7 Ways to Control Energy Consumption in Office Spaces

Hartman strives to reduce property expenses.  Expense reduction not only benefits both landlord and tenant, but also often times results in properties operating in an energy efficient matter.  Electricity is a significant percentage of our annual operating expenses, so it is very important that we work together to keep these cost under control. On average, we have kept our energy consumption 10-15% lower per property when compared to a national average.  We encourage you to reduce expenses by practicing many of the same energy saving techniques that we do.

  • Leave blinds closed
  • Avoid the use of equipment that confuses thermostats
  • Wear appropriate/seasonal clothing
  • Purchase energy efficient equipment
  • Be mindful of energy consumption
  • Shut down devices not in use
  • Report any malfunctions in appliances

These are all ways that we can work together to save on energy consumption.

To understand energy consumption at the plant floor or production unit level, work with your automation provider to identify useful data collection points across machines and lines, and program your information systems to store and analyze that data.
