LEED

We continue to incorporate LEED (Leading Energy and Efficiency Design) standards.  This process promotes the energy reduction in both new and old buildings and parallels the effort of going "Green."  Through this process, properties are more likely to be eligible for Energy Star Awards, and can usually see drastic reductions in energy expenses.

7 Ways to Control Energy Consumption in Office Spaces

Hartman strives to reduce property expenses.  Expense reduction not only benefits both landlord and tenant, but also often times results in properties operating in an energy efficient matter.  Electricity is a significant percentage of our annual operating expenses, so it is very important that we work together to keep these cost under control. On average, we have kept our energy consumption 10-15% lower per property when compared to a national average.  We encourage you to reduce expenses by practicing many of the same energy saving techniques that we do.

  • Leave blinds closed
  • Avoid the use of equipment that confuses thermostats
  • Wear appropriate/seasonal clothing
  • Purchase energy efficient equipment
  • Be mindful of energy consumption
  • Shut down devices not in use
  • Report any malfunctions in appliances

These are all ways that we can work together to save on energy consumption.

Go Green

We are very excited about the renovations and upgrades that we have planned for 2011.  By physically improving our properties we not only increase the value of the real estate but also create tenant satisfaction.  Many of our improvements such as lighting retrofits will decrease expenses and parallel the efforts we have as a company to go "Green."  Among others, some additional improvements include upgrading fire panel systems, repair/replace HVAC units, signage, upgrading life safety systems, and add additional on-site security monitoring systems.  We hope these improvements will positively influence your decision to lease from Hartman.
