Starting a small businesses will probably be one of the hardest things you ever do. There are so many things to know and so many decisions to make. Out of all the questions, there is at least one thing you know for sure. Appearance matters. It may not be as important as product quality, or responsive customer service, but if your company initially creates a poor image, it may not matter how friendly your employees are. Here are a few of the most important places to make sure your appearance is pristine.

Website

If you haven’t already created a website for your company, you should. In this age, most people look for, and judge, companies by their online presence before they even consider making a purchase. If you don’t have a website, chances are no one will find your company. However, having a poorly designed website may be even worse. After some work, potential customers may find your site, but if it looks bad, they will quickly leave with a negative opinion of your company.

Advertising

This may seem a little obvious, but it’s very important that your advertising looks very professional. Unprofessional advertising will do more harm even than no advertising at all. Just like the website, as important as it is to advertise, it’s more important to wait until you can afford to do it attractively and professionally.

Office

If your business is the type that brings customers and clients into the office, it’s very important that they are impressed with the look, feel and professionalism of your office space. Office space tells your customers you are for real.
