Building Engineer

Job purpose
To operate and maintain all building equipment and systems.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC related equipment.
- Troubleshoot operations failures and re-establish building services under minimal supervisions
- Supervise maintenance work as needed
- complete work orders for service call requests by tenants
- Perform daily inspections of all building systems
- Respond to tenant complaints/request and follow up on ongoing problems
- Monitor and replace light fixtures as needed
- Maintain supply inventory
- Provide information for budget preparation

- Extend the useful life of the equipment
- Improve the efficiency and reliability of the equipment
- Provide quality service to customers
Key Measurement Areas & Metrics
- Accurate and completed monthly, quarterly and annual scheduled preventative maintenance programs
- Reduced operating expenses
- Good scores on the semi-annual maintenance tenant survey
Education & Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 4 years of related experience
- Valid Driver’s License and Insurance Card.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Advanced knowledge of EMS systems.
- City of Dallas 3rd Grade Engineer License or Greater CFC Universal Certificate
- Mathematical and reasoning skills and abilities – advanced
- Microsoft office programs – basic
- Yardi knowledge – basic
